Mikaela + Russ’ wedding was gorgeous from start to finish and it’s making us look forward to summer weddings even more! They were married at Saint Vincent DePaul Church in Westerly and their reception was held at one of our favorite venues, Saltwater Farm Vineyard. The weather was perfect which allowed for endless beautiful photos in the vines before cocktail hour outside on the patio. The happy newlyweds and their guests then proceeded inside for speeches, a delicious dinner catered by Coastal Gourmet Catering, and a wonderful night of dancing and celebrating with family and friends.

From the bride… “I went into our wedding day prepared with several new umbrellas ready to be used. The weather forecast was rain all week, so I panicked and overstocked on umbrellas, only to wake up the day of our wedding to a beautiful hot and sunny summer day. The girls started out the morning at my house, with a homemade brunch prepared by the best bridesmaids a girl could ask for. It was a relaxing morning and I surprisingly felt so calm. Russ and his groomsmen met up at the Mystic Hilton to get ready before our ceremony.”

“Russ and I had out “first look” when I walked down the aisle. Our ceremony was held at Saint Vincent DePaul Church in Westerly, RI where I grew up going to Mass on Sundays. The ceremony was special in so many ways, but it was especially memorable to have my cousin play some of our music.”

“After the ceremony, we boarded a trolley with our bridal party and celebrated on our way to the venue. Upon arriving at Saltwater Farm Vineyards, Russ and I went to the bridal suite to take it all in. We also snuck in a few snacks prepared by Coastal Gourmet to hold us over until dinner. We then got to take pictures in the vines with our bridal party. Our amazing photographer, Cora, was able to capture our day perfectly! She caught all of our formal shots, but also captured our whole wedding party racing through the fields and everyone’s moves on the dance floor!”

“Before dinner, Russ’s brother and best man, gave such a nice speech poking fun at Russ and welcoming me to the family. It meant a lot to both of us. My sister and maid of honor, followed with a speech filled with some childhood inside jokes that she let everyone in on and some jokes she and Russ had developed over the years. She had all of us laughing but ended on a sweet note.

We relaxed through dinner and then took some couple photos outside with Cora. We spent the rest of the night dancing to music played by CE Productions and enjoying our donut tower cake from Allie’s Donuts and JDP Cakes & Favors.”

“Our advice to other couples is to let the small things go and just enjoy the day. The best part of our wedding was being surrounded by people who love and support us. We had the best time celebrating with family and friends. We started our marriage out with so many new memories… and probably way too many umbrellas!”
