From the bride… “Kevin and I met at Stonington High School, so although we live in Boston, getting married back home was a no-brainer for us. Growing up in Stonington and having both previously worked for local wedding vendors, we knew we were in good hands at home every step of the way during our wedding planning process.

In October of 2017, Kevin planned a surprise proposal in the vines at Saltwater Farm Vineyard. It was just perfect and the most amazing way to kick off the next chapter in our lives.”

“The night before our wedding, we had the most delicious rehearsal dinner at Engine Room in downtown Mystic. The food was fantastic and our guests had the best time! Yumiko from Hana Floral worked with our family to add personalized touches to the dining room and it looked absolutely gorgeous! She even included sweet pea at our head table as a special nod to my late grandfather's nickname for me.

Our wedding day itself called for rain in the forecast, so nerves were a bit high throughout the morning. By some miracle, although it rained in areas around us, we never felt a drop the entire day. Instead, we had a sunny, hot day from start to finish. With the warm weather, we could not have been more thankful for our amazing water station from A Thyme to Cook as our guests joined us for the ceremony in the vines, performed by the bride's brother. With the sun shining and a few puffy clouds overhead, we walked down the aisle as local musicians, Ben Freiert and Jeff Lewis, played in the background and said our vows in front of family and friends.”

“The fantastic staff from A Thyme to Cook greeted us with signature cocktails following the ceremony and even prepared a tray of delicious appetizers and drinks for Kevin and I to enjoy in the bridal suite as we spent a few moments alone together soaking in what the last few minutes had brought.

To any couples wondering what the best piece of wedding advice we received was, that was it. Spend a few moments just the two of you before heading to cocktail hour or to the reception. It was truly one of my favorite parts of the day.”

"We received a live painting from Beth Bee Art as a wedding gift and it was such a fantastic experience! Beth was one of the kindest people to work with and is truly so talented. We loved watching the progression of her painting of our first look and were floored with the outcome! She even framed our painting for us and it now hangs in our apartment so we can always remember our wedding day."

“After cocktail hour, we entered what seemed like a fairy tale as we finally saw the tent put together. With bistro lights from Ryan Designs draped from the tent ceiling and unbelievable florals from Hana Floral on each table, our vision that we had for the night was perfectly executed as it came to life in front of us.”

“Zest Fresh Pastry made our amazing cake (highly recommend the champagne cake with strawberry mousse!) and giant cookies for dessert. They were a pleasure to work with, from our fun tasting with family to the day of the event.”

“We danced to Johnnyswim’s, “Take the World '' under the lights with our loved ones around us. The staff from A Thyme to Cook served us an outstanding dinner (we received many compliments that it was some of the best food people had eaten at a wedding!) and then it was time to party! Thanks to DJ JD from Dawson Entertainment, our guests didn’t leave the dance floor all night. He kept the party going from the start to our sparkler exit at the very end of the night.”

“It was truly the most magical day and we could not have made it happen without our amazing vendor team! They brought our entire vision to life effortlessly and flawlessly. We can’t wait for our next excuse to throw a party and use them all again!”
