Ali + Tres' Beautiful Wedding in Mystic
Ali + Tres’ wedding day started with downpours and tornado warnings but then the sun came out for their beautiful first look photos and their day was absolutely amazing! Captured by Maggie Conley Photography, this Mystic wedding was full of happiness, a cute pup, and so many wonderful moments that you will just love!
From the bride… "We met at Bartaco in West Hartford and a week and a half later I was off to Sicily to spend 18 days with my family. Realizing I met a great guy, I pulled together a basket of small gifts for him to open each day while I was gone. When I returned from Italy I walked into a room with 18 red, white, and blue balloons, each with an attached envelope numbered. Each envelope had a reason why he liked me. I was head over heels.”
“Four years, a dog, and four moves later we took a trip to Vietnam to celebrate his final fellowship being completed. He organized a beautiful sunset dinner overlooking the water. That night he proposed as a guitarist serenaded us.”
“When it came time to getting married we knew we wanted the highest quality of vendors for the big day. So we chose a longer engagement (over two years) to be sure we had the right support to execute the day. Luckily our gut steered us right.
The weather reported a 20% chance of rain. And that morning there were flash floods, long periods of downpours of rain, and a tornado warning. Even though there was a delay with our first look the sun shined through, and a beautiful Mystic fog set over the river to make it the most perfect afternoon. We were able to get married as planned right over the river. Our vendors did everything possible to take a very stressful morning and made it seem as though nothing went wrong.”
“One of our favorite moments is when Maggie (our photographer) took us away during cocktail hour to be on the Seaport property alone. We had planned a first look to join cocktail hour but the rain delayed the look which pushed pictures to during cocktail hour. It was us with just Maggie, Steve, and Mike. It was the first moment that day which wasn’t chaotic. I felt like I was finally calm. We were able to joke around and just relax together. I recommend to other couples taking that pause to appreciate all that the day stands for.”
“Another highlight was when our friend rapped Ice Ice Baby with Sugar! Totally epic moment. It also was just a blessing to see how far everyone traveled to celebrate with us. Italy, Canada, California, Florida, Sicily, Georgia, Minnesota, Vermont, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, Rhode Island, Maine, and of course Connecticut!”
Thank you, Ali + Tres, for sharing your wonderful wedding day with us!
